Rosemary World Kitchen Seeds
Approx 75 Seeds
Rosemary is an evergreen herb central to Mediterranean cuisine, with its rich, pine-like aroma and robust flavour. It pairs beautifully with lamb, poultry, roast potatoes and vegetables, and is also a favourite for marinades, bread and oils. Attractive and hardy, rosemary is both a practical kitchen herb and an ornamental shrub for the garden or patio.
How To Grow
Sow very thinly, about 0.5cm deep, in trays or pots of seed-raising mix. Keep soil moist until germination, which may take time. Once seedlings are strong enough, harden off and transplant to a sunny position, spacing plants at least 60cm apart. Rosemary thrives in free-draining soil and also grows well in large pots or containers.
When To Plant
Best sown in spring and summer, or indoors year-round in warm climates.
Harvest
Pick fresh leaves and young shoots as required. Rosemary can also be dried or frozen for later use.
Soil Type
Prefers sandy, well-drained soil in a sunny, sheltered spot.
