Parsley Italian World Kitchen Seeds
Approx 1000 Seeds
Italian (flat-leaf) parsley is the variety most prized in Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cooking. With its bold flavour and high levels of vitamin C and iron, it is perfect for salads, pasta, tabbouleh, and as a fresh garnish for almost any dish. Its upright growth habit and large, flat leaves make it both productive and easy to harvest, whether grown in the garden or in pots.
How To Grow
Sow seeds 1cm deep in trays, pots or directly into garden beds. Parsley can be slow to germinate, so patience is needed; watering with hot (not boiling) water after sowing can help speed things up. Once seedlings emerge, thin to 15cm apart, later transplanting to final positions about 30cm apart. Keep soil consistently moist to encourage steady growth.
When To Plant
Best sown from spring through autumn, or indoors all year round in warm regions.
Harvest
Pick leaves as required once plants are established. Regular harvesting encourages continual fresh growth.
Soil Type
Thrives in fertile, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil, enriched with compost or organic matter.
