Coriander Chinese Parsley World Kitchen Seeds
Approx 250 Seeds
Coriander, also known as Chinese parsley, is one of the most widely used herbs in world cuisine. The fresh leaves add a distinctive flavour to curries, stir-fries, salsas and salads, while the dried seeds are prized as a spice in many international dishes. Fast-growing and versatile, it can be harvested as leafy greens or left to set seed for use in the kitchen.
How To Grow
Sow seeds directly where they are to grow, 5–10mm deep in rows or clumps. Thin seedlings to about 15–20cm apart. Coriander grows best in a sunny or partly shaded spot with regular watering. To prolong leafy growth, pick leaves often and remove flower stems as they appear. For seed harvest, allow plants to flower and set seed.
When To Plant
Sow in spring and autumn, or year-round in frost-free regions. Avoid planting in the hottest part of summer.
Harvest
Leaves are ready in 6 to 8 weeks and can be picked continuously. Seeds can be collected once they ripen and turn brown.
Soil Type
Prefers fertile, well-drained soil enriched with compost or organic matter.
