Onion Rossa Lunga di Firenze World Kitchen Seeds
Approx 300 seeds
A classic Tuscan heirloom, Onion Rossa Lunga di Firenze is renowned for its long, tapered pink bulbs with crisp white flesh. Highly versatile in the kitchen, it can be harvested young for use as a sweet salad onion or left to mature for a bolder, more pungent flavour. This variety is a staple in traditional Italian cooking, famously used in spring vegetable risotto and ideal for grilling, roasting, or enjoying raw.
How To Grow
Sow seeds thinly in rows 25cm apart, covering lightly with 5mm of fine soil. Firm gently and keep moist until germination, usually 14–21 days. Grow in a sunny position in well-prepared garden beds, pots, or containers. Generally, thinning is not required. Keep plants moist and weed-free. For a continuous harvest, sow every 4–6 weeks.
