Purple Queen is one of the best-flavoured dwarf French beans, producing heavy yields of glossy purple pods that turn a rich dark green when cooked. Compact and stringless, it is a reliable half-hardy annual ideal for home gardens.

How To Grow
Sow seeds 25mm deep in damp soil, spacing 7–10cm apart. Avoid watering for 2–3 days after sowing to reduce the risk of rot. Allow 50cm between rows. Ensure the danger of frost has passed and protect plants from wind.
Water consistently throughout the season. Fertiliser is generally not required as legumes produce their own nitrogen. Harvest regularly while pods are young and tender to encourage continuous cropping.
