Product Overview

Bean Dwarf Banjo Seeds

25 grams of seed

Dwarf Banjo is an early maturing, high-yielding bean that performs exceptionally well across a wide range of conditions. It produces straight, smooth pods of rich dark green colour with excellent flavour, and shows good tolerance to common diseases. A reliable and productive choice for home gardens.

How To Grow

Sow seeds 2.5cm deep in well-prepared soil enriched with compost or aged manure. Space 7 to 10cm apart in rows 50cm wide. Avoid watering for the first couple of days after sowing to prevent rotting. Seedlings usually appear within 7 to 10 days.

Choose a sunny, sheltered position and protect plants from strong winds. Keep the soil moist with regular watering, especially during dry spells. Mulch around plants to conserve water and suppress weeds. No additional fertiliser is needed as beans fix their own nitrogen.

Harvest pods regularly to promote continuous cropping. For a steady supply, sow additional seeds every 4 to 6 weeks during the season.

When To Plant

Sow in spring and summer, or in autumn in warmer regions.

Harvest

8 to 10 weeks from sowing.

Soil Type

Grows best in fertile, well-drained soil with added organic matter.

Important Note

Do not sow seeds too closely together, as overcrowding can stress plants and cause climbing runners to form. Lightly mist flowers with water to help with pollination and pod set.
