Bean Broad Tripoli Seeds
Tripoli is a productive broad bean variety with long pods containing large, flavoursome beans. It is valued for generous crops and good tolerance of warmer conditions compared with some other broad bean varieties. The tall plants make a useful cool-season addition to the vegetable garden.
How To Grow
Sow seeds approximately 5cm deep and 25cm apart. For double rows, allow approximately 30cm between the two rows. Keep the soil moist and the bed free of weeds. Support the tall plants with stakes and string as they grow, particularly in exposed positions.
When To Plant
Sow in autumn and winter.
Harvest
Ready in approximately 12 to 16 weeks. Pick pods while the beans are plump and tender.
Soil Type
Fertile, well-cultivated soil with good drainage, in a sunny position.
