Product Overview
Basil Siam Queen World Kitchen Seeds
Approx 250 Seeds
A vigorous and bushy Thai basil with large green leaves and a spicy cinnamon-aniseed aroma. The flavour is more intense than sweet basil, making it an essential herb for Thai and Vietnamese cooking. Perfect for curries, stir fries, soups and salads, this late-flowering variety also produces higher yields over a longer season.
How To Grow
Sow seeds directly into garden beds or pots in a warm, sunny and sheltered position. Scatter thinly, cover lightly with fine soil, firm gently and keep moist. When seedlings are large enough, thin to about 15cm apart. Regular picking encourages bushier plants and prolongs harvest.
When To Plant
Sow from early spring to late summer. In warm, frost-free regions it can be grown all year round.
Harvest
Pick leaves as required once plants are well established. Continuous harvesting keeps plants productive and fresh.
Soil Type
Thrives in rich, well-drained soil improved with compost or organic matter. Suitable for both pots and garden beds.
