Product Overview
Australian Native Seed Starter Granules
Approx 5 grams
Many Australian native species have adapted to germinate after fire, relying on chemicals in smoke to trigger growth. These convenient Wildflower Seed Starter Granules mimic this natural process, improving the rate and vigour of native seed germination. Safe, natural, and effective, these granules make smoke treatment easy to apply in home gardens.
Simply sow seeds as directed on their packet, then sprinkle the granules lightly over the soil surface before the first watering. For seeds that require soaking before sowing, add a small pinch of granules to the water with the seeds. Smoke treatment not only benefits natives but can also help produce stronger seedlings across a wide range of plants, improving survival rates after germination.
Quantity: Approximately 1 teaspoon (5g) of granules per sachet. Enough to cover around 10–20 seed starter pots.
How To Use:
There are two simple methods for using Wildflower Seed Starter Granules:
For soil sowing
Sow seeds as usual, then sprinkle a pinch of granules over the soil surface. Gently water in to activate. Continue watering as required.
For soaking seeds
Add a pinch of granules to warm water, soak seeds as directed, then strain and save the smoky water. Sow seeds and use the saved water to gently water them in.
A small amount is enough. Too much will not harm seeds, but a pinch is all that is required.
