Australian Native Australian Climbing Bluebell Seeds
25 Seeds
The Billardiera heterophylla, commonly known as the Australian Climbing Bluebell, is an ornate evergreen vine native to Western Australia. With its elegant twisting stems and vivid blue bell-shaped flowers, this climber creates a spectacular display during spring and summer. Reaching up to 3m, it is perfect for training over trellises, poles, or garden structures, bringing vertical colour and charm to any outdoor space. Hardy and long-lived, it is drought tolerant once established and thrives in sunny, well-drained positions.
Plant Height: 1–3m
How To Grow
Sow seeds on the surface of a light seed-raising mix in pots or trays, covering only lightly with a sprinkle of seed-raising mix or vermiculite. Do not bury deeply. Water gently with a fine mist to avoid dislodging seeds. Keep soil moist at all times but not waterlogged, as excess moisture can cause seeds to rot. Maintain temperatures between 18–24°C. In cooler regions, covering trays or pots with clear polythene can help retain warmth and humidity. Germination typically occurs within 21–42 days. For best results, avoid sowing in the hottest and coldest months. Use Wildflower Seed Starter Granules to mimic natural bushfire cues and improve germination and seedling survival.
