Australian Native Red Flowering Gum Seeds
12 Seeds
The Red Flowering Gum (Corymbia ficifolia) is one of Australia’s most spectacular flowering trees. Famous for its masses of bright red summer blooms, it is a stunning feature in gardens, streetscapes, and even as cut flowers often seen in Christmas arrangements. With attractive glossy foliage, appealing bark, and a mature height of 7m, it provides both beauty and shade, making it a highly recommended ornamental tree.
We recommend the use of Wildflower Seed Starter Granules for improved germination rates and speed. These granules provide chemicals normally found in bushfire smoke that stimulate native seed germination.
Plant Height: 7m
How To Grow
Sow in warm areas at any time, or after frost risk has passed in cooler regions. Fill small pots with moist sandy soil, wet thoroughly and compress. Sow one seed flat on its side in each pot and lightly cover with soil to the thickness of the seed. Adding Wildflower Seed Starter granules to the soil surface is beneficial. Keep moist and place in a warm, shaded position to germinate. Protect young seedlings from slugs and snails. Transplant when plants reach about 20cm high into their permanent position. Water in well, then weekly until established. Responds well to hard pruning.
