Snow Pea Climbing Yakumo Seeds
Yakumo is a climbing snow pea with purple flowers and large, flat pods that can reach approximately 13cm long. The tender pods are eaten whole and are useful for stir-fries, salads and steaming. Its tall vines need a trellis or other climbing support.
How To Grow
Sow seeds approximately 5cm deep in well-drained soil. Firm the soil gently and avoid waterlogging during germination. Provide climbing support from planting and guide young shoots towards it as they grow. Water regularly once established, particularly during flowering and pod development.
When To Plant
Sow in autumn and winter, or spring in cooler conditions.
Harvest
Ready in approximately 8 to 10 weeks. Pick pods regularly while flat and tender, before the peas inside become large.
Soil Type
Well-drained soil in a sunny position.
