Product Overview
Winged Pea Asparagus Pea World Kitchen Seeds
Approx 50 Seeds
The Winged Pea, also known as the Asparagus Pea, is a unique and decorative vegetable producing winged pods with a delicate flavour reminiscent of asparagus. The young pods are best harvested while small and tender, and can be lightly steamed, sautéed, or added to stir-fries. With its trailing habit and attractive red flowers, this plant is both ornamental and productive – a great addition to the home garden or container plantings.
How to Grow
Sow seeds 1–2 cm deep directly into well-prepared soil in a sunny position. Space plants 20–30 cm apart in rows 45 cm apart. Provide some support for the trailing growth. Keep soil moist but not waterlogged. Pick pods regularly while young (2–3 cm long) to encourage further production and maintain tenderness.

Spring to early summer; year-round in warm, frost-free climates.
Soil Type
Fertile, well-drained soil enriched with compost or organic matter. Prefers a sunny position.
