Mustard Herb Seeds
1400 Seeds
Mustard greens are quick and easy to grow, producing crunchy leaves with a peppery kick. Harvested young, they make a tasty garnish for sandwiches, salads and stir-fries. With successive sowings, you can enjoy a continuous supply of fresh mustard greens right through the season.
How To Grow
Sow seeds generously on moist cotton wool, paper towel, or a thin layer of seed-raising mix. Cover lightly with damp paper until germination begins, then keep moist. Outdoors, sow in seed trays, boxes or pots by sprinkling evenly over the surface. For the best flavour, cut plants when young and tender.
When To Plant
Indoors: any time of year.
Outdoors: in seed trays or pots during the warmer months.
Harvest
Ready to cut when plants are 5–10cm high, usually within 3 weeks. Sow regularly for a continuous crop.
Soil Type
Grows well in fine seed-raising mix or quality potting soil, indoors or out.
Important Note
These seeds may be treated with a fungicide (Thiram or Apron XL). Do not eat the seeds or feed them to animals. Fungicide treatment is an AQIS requirement for certain varieties of seeds and does not affect your crops or harm beneficial insects such as bees. If treated, the packet will be clearly marked and the seeds dyed a distinct colour.
