Dill Herb Seeds
750 Seeds
Dill is a versatile annual herb with fine, feathery foliage and aromatic seeds that bring a sweet, tangy flavour to cooking. The fresh leaves are especially good with fish such as salmon, as well as vegetables, potatoes, sauces and mustards. The seeds are equally valuable, commonly used in pickling and for seasoning coleslaw, white meats and stews. Attractive in borders or pots, dill is as decorative as it is useful.
How To Grow
Sow seeds 1.5cm deep directly where they are to grow in a sunny, sheltered position. Dill does not transplant well, so avoid moving young plants. It can also be grown indoors all year round as a windowsill herb in pots filled with quality potting mix. Keep soil moist for best results.
When To Plant
Can be sown year-round in pots, or outdoors during spring, summer and autumn.
Harvest
Pick leaves as required throughout the growing season. Harvest seeds once flower heads dry and turn brown.
Soil Type
Thrives in fertile, well-drained soil enriched with compost or organic matter.
