Eggplant Listada de Gandia is a traditional Spanish heirloom variety, prized for its striking purple-and-white striped skin and mild, creamy flavour. The elongated oval fruits are tender and sweet, making them ideal for grilling, roasting, or using in Mediterranean-style dishes. Highly ornamental as well as productive, this variety performs well in both garden beds and large pots.
How To Grow
Sow seeds 6mm deep in trays or punnets of seed-raising mix and keep moist. Transplant seedlings to their final position when 7–10cm tall, spacing plants 60–75cm apart. Choose a warm, sunny spot with well-drained, fertile soil. Provide stakes in windy areas and water consistently for best results. Seedlings emerge in 10–14 days.
