Product Overview
Dianella revoluta ‘DRG04’ Revelation PBR is a medium-sized, evergreen strappy-leaf perennial (flax lily) distinguished by its cleaner blue-green foliage, neat clumping habit, and vibrant small blue flowers in mid to late spring. It offers outstanding resilience under both wet and dry conditions, making it a standout in diverse gardens and landscapes.
Growth:
Forms a compact, clumping plant approximately 50 cm tall and 50 cm wide. Its neat habit works beautifully in mass plantings, garden beds, or groundcover scenarios.
Light Requirements:
Thrives in full sun to part shade. Performs well across a variety of light conditions.
Soil Requirements:
Adaptable and equally suited to sandy, sandy loam, or clay soils, as long as drainage is good. Avoid very poor or waterlogged sites for best performance.
Water Requirements:
Water regularly during establishment. Once mature, it handles both drought and occasional wet feet remarkably well, making it ideal for challenging or variable conditions.
Frost Tolerance:
Frost tolerant and performs reliably in temperate climates.
Drought Tolerance:
Highly drought tolerant once established, thriving in low-water and coastal settings.
Flowering Information:
Produces clusters of delicate blue flowers from mid-spring into early summer, followed by attractive purple berries that persist well into later seasons.
Spacing Requirements:
Space approximately 4 to 6 plants per square metre (roughly 30 to 50 cm between plants) to create effective coverage and airflow.
Fertiliser Requirements:
Low feeding needs. A light spring application of slow-release or balanced fertiliser and annual mulch supports healthy growth without excessive maintenance.
Care and Maintenance:
Low maintenance. Remove old flower stems periodically. If desired, trim back about 15 cm above ground every 3 to 5 years to rejuvenate the plant. Mulch to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Ideal for mass planting, erosion control, and both residential and commercial landscapes.
