Coriander Seed Mats make it simple to grow this essential culinary herb at home. The seeds are pre-spaced in biodegradable paper, ensuring even germination and eliminating the need for thinning. Fresh leaves, also known as cilantro, are perfect for curries, soups, salads and stir-fries. As the plants mature, flowers set seed that can be dried and ground to use as coriander spice in a wide range of dishes.
How To Grow
Fill a 9cm pot with soil mix, leaving a 1.5cm gap at the top for watering. Place the mat on the surface, firm down gently and cover with a fine layer of soil. Water well and keep in a warm position at 15–20°C. Maintain even moisture during growth. Plants can be grown on a sunny windowsill, patio, or indoors year-round with good natural light.
When To Plant
Sow from spring to early summer, or all year indoors in a warm, bright spot.
Harvest
Ready to pick in 10 to 12 weeks. Harvest leaves as needed, and allow some plants to flower if seed is desired.
Soil Type
Best grown in fertile, well-drained soil or quality potting mix.
