Chilli Hot Thai Bird’s Eye World Kitchen Seeds
Approx 35 seeds
Hot Thai Bird’s Eye is a compact chilli variety famous for its fiery punch and authentic flavour. The slender, upright fruits reach about 7.5 cm long and are packed with intense heat, making them a staple in Thai, Indian, and Southeast Asian cooking. Perfect for curries, stir-fries, soups, and sauces, these little chillies bring bold flavour to every dish.
How To Grow
Sow seeds 5 mm deep in pots, seed trays, or directly into well-prepared garden soil. Keep the soil lightly moist until germination, which takes 7–21 days. Once seedlings are established, transplant into their final position in a warm, sunny spot with well-drained soil. Plants remain compact, making them suitable for garden beds or pots. Pick chillies regularly to encourage continuous cropping.
When To Plant
Spring to Summer. In frost-free northern regions, sowing can also be extended into Winter.
Harvest
12–14 weeks from sowing. Fruits can be picked green or allowed to ripen to a vibrant red for maximum flavour and heat.
Sow
Spring, Summer.
Soil Type
Well-drained, fertile soil enriched with organic matter.
Care
Keep plants evenly watered, especially during hot dry spells. Apply a liquid fertiliser every few weeks to support steady growth and heavy fruiting. Handle chillies with care as they are very hot and may irritate skin and eyes.
