Product Overview
Capsicum Courtyard (Capsicum annuum) is a compact and highly productive capsicum variety specially suited to smaller growing spaces. Producing medium-sized, pointed fruit with thick, sweet flesh, this versatile plant performs beautifully in courtyards, patios, balconies, raised beds and large containers. Its naturally bushy growth habit stays neat and manageable while still delivering generous harvests across the warm season. Whether picked green or allowed to mature to full colour, the fruit offers excellent flavour, texture and versatility in the kitchen.
How To Grow:
Plant in rich, well drained soil and water consistently to encourage healthy growth and steady fruit production. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and protect roots during warmer weather. Feed regularly once flowering begins.
When To Plant:
Spring through early summer once frost risk has passed and the soil has warmed.
Harvest:
Ready in 10-14 weeks. Harvest fruit while green for a fresh flavour or allow to fully colour for added sweetness.
Position:
Full sun in a warm, sheltered position protected from strong winds and frost.
Soil Type:
Free draining, fertile soil enriched with compost or well aged organic matter.
Growing Tips:
Keep moisture levels even during fruiting to prevent stress. Container-grown plants may benefit from occasional liquid feeding through the growing season. Regular harvesting encourages ongoing production.
Notes:
Excellent for salads, grilling, stuffing, roasting and stir-fries. Its thick flesh and pointed shape make it ideal for both fresh eating and cooking. Sold as a single seedling from the Howlong Advanced Vegetable Collection.
