Product Overview
Watermelon Allsweet Seeds
50 Seeds
Watermelon Allsweet Seeds produce large, oblong fruits with a strong striped green rind and crisp, juicy red flesh. Sweet and refreshing with very few seeds, this classic variety is a summertime favourite for the whole family to enjoy.
How To Grow
Sow 4 to 5 seeds 12mm deep in clumps, spacing each clump about 50cm apart. Once seedlings appear, thin to the two strongest plants in each position. Pinch out growing tips at the 5 to 6 leaf stage to encourage side shoots. Seedlings usually emerge within 6 to 10 days. Prepare soil with compost or fertiliser, water regularly and mulch well to keep the ground moist.
When To Plant
Sow in spring and summer once soil is warm.
Harvest
Fruits are ready to harvest 12 to 14 weeks after sowing. Pick when the underside turns creamy yellow and the fruit sounds hollow when tapped.
Soil Type
Thrives in fertile, well-drained soil enriched with organic matter.
Important Note
These seeds may be treated with fungicide (Thiram or Apron XL). Do not eat the seeds or feed them to animals. Treatment is an AQIS requirement for certain imported varieties and does not affect crops or harm beneficial insects such as bees. If treated, the packet will be clearly marked and the seeds dyed a bright colour.
