Product Overview
Spring Onion Bunching Ishikura Seeds
500 Seeds
Ishikura is a traditional Japanese spring onion that forms long, slender white stalks instead of bulbs. Almost the entire plant can be eaten, making it a low-waste and versatile addition to the kitchen. Quick to mature and long-lasting, the stalks can be left to thicken without losing their mild, sweet flavour. Excellent for salads, stir-fries, soups, and garnishes.
How to Grow
Sow seeds thinly 1.5 cm deep in rows 15 cm apart. Thinning is generally not required. Keep plants well watered, particularly in dry weather, and maintain weed-free beds. For a continuous supply, sow every 3 weeks.
When to Plant
Year-round in most climates.
Soil Type
Prefers well-dug, fertile soil enriched with manure or compost. Thrives in a sunny position with free drainage.
Harvest
Ready in 8–12 weeks. Harvest as needed, pulling stalks from the base.
Sow
Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter
