Early Californian Red produces large, red, flattened globe-shaped onions with delicious white flesh and a mild flavour. A versatile variety, perfect for cooking or enjoying fresh in salads.
How To Grow
Sow in well-cultivated soil in a sunny position. Separate the seed tape strips and roll out into prepared rows 5mm deep and 30cm apart. Cover with soil and keep moist. Thin seedlings to 10cm apart when large enough to handle. Seedlings usually emerge in 10–14 days. Onions are ready to harvest when the tops dry out and fall over.
