Red onions add colour as well as flavour to cooked dishes and are especially delicious in fresh salads. Beneath the blood-red skin, the white flesh is mild yet full of flavour.
How To Grow
Sow thinly, 6mm deep in rows. Cover with fine soil or compost and keep moist. Thin seedlings early to 2cm apart, then later to 10cm apart. Allow 30cm between rows. Prepare the soil well by adding organic material and a pre-planting fertiliser.
