Product Overview
Shallot Longwhite Bunch Seeds
650 Seeds
Longwhite bunching shallots grow into slender, silvery-white stalks that cluster together, making them perfect for harvesting young as spring onions. They’re quick to grow, mild in flavour, and ideal for adding freshness to salads, stir-fries, soups, and many other dishes.
How to Grow
Sow seeds 1.5 cm deep in well-prepared soil. Space rows 30 cm apart, leaving around 2 cm between seedlings to encourage neat, single bulbs. Keep the soil evenly moist and weed-free. Harvest once the tops have yellowed and fallen, then cure and store in a cool, dry place.
When to Plant
Can be sown year-round in most climates.
Soil Type
Prefers free-draining, fertile soil enriched with compost. Avoid heavy clay or waterlogged areas; raised beds or improved soil are best. Ideal pH 6.0–7.0.
Harvest
Ready to pull as needed throughout the year; full bulbs form when the foliage dies back.
Sow
Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter
