Creamgold produces light brown, globe-shaped bulbs with pungent cream-coloured flesh. Renowned for its flavour, this mid-season maturing variety is also an excellent keeper, making it a reliable choice for the home garden. Best results are achieved in a fine, rich soil in a sunny, open position.
How To Grow
Sow thinly 6mm deep in rows. Cover with fine soil or compost and keep moist. Thin seedlings early to 2cm apart, and later to 10cm apart. Allow 30cm between rows. Prepare the soil well with organic matter and pre-planting fertiliser. Different onion varieties mature at different times, so staggered plantings can extend your harvest season.
