Radicchio Palla Rossa is an early-heading variety producing firm, compact red heads with striking white veins. Its slightly bitter flavour adds zest to mixed salads, while the mature heads are perfect for roasting, grilling, or braising. Can also be grown as baby salad leaves for a fresh and colourful mix.
How To Grow
Sow seeds 6mm deep in trays of seed-raising mix. Transplant when seedlings are large enough to handle, spacing 30cm between plants and rows. Keep soil consistently moist and feed with a complete fertiliser to encourage healthy growth.
