Carrot Purple Sun F1 Hybrid World Kitchen Seeds

An eye-catching carrot with rich purple colouring from skin to core, Purple Sun adds a vibrant twist to the veggie patch. Unlike older purple types that turned orange inside, this hybrid stays consistently purple throughout. Sweet, tender and full of antioxidants, it’s not just colourful but also highly nutritious – perfect for both everyday meals and gourmet dishes.
How To Grow
Sow seeds thinly, about 5mm deep, directly into a well-prepared garden bed. Rows should be spaced 30cm apart. Keep soil evenly moist during germination, with seedlings usually appearing in 10–21 days. Thin plants to 7–10cm apart once established, watering well to settle the soil around roots. Regular watering and weeding will ensure the best flavour and colour.

Harvest
Ready in 12–16 weeks. Pick some early for baby carrots, leaving the rest to grow to full size.

Soil Type
Light, well-drained soil free of stones is ideal to prevent misshapen roots.
Important Note
Avoid high nitrogen fertilisers as these can cause forked roots. A bed enriched with compost from a previous crop is best.
