Product Overview
Carrot Manchester Table Seeds
2000 seeds
Carrot Manchester Table is a classic, reliable variety that produces long, smooth, cylindrical roots with a rich orange colour and fine flavour. It is well known for its consistent shape and productivity, making it a favourite for home gardeners.
How To Grow
Sow thinly, 5mm deep in rows spaced 30cm apart. Keep soil evenly moist until seedlings appear, usually within 10–21 days. Thin plants gradually to 10cm apart as they grow, using the young carrots as baby vegetables. For continuous harvests, repeat sowings every two weeks. Ensure the soil is loose and free from stones or compacted clumps to allow straight root development.
When To Plant
Winter through to Autumn.
Harvest
12–16 weeks from sowing.
Sow
Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter
Soil Type
Well-cultivated, free-draining soil in a sunny position.
Important Note
Carrots grow best in soil with low nutrient levels. Excess nitrogen encourages forking and misshapen roots.
