Product Overview

Carrot Chantenay Red Seeds

2000 seeds

An early maturing carrot variety with a smooth skin, fine texture, and small core. Chantenay Red produces sweet, crisp roots that are ideal for fresh eating, roasting, or juicing. Known for its reliable growth and ability to store well after harvest, it’s a versatile choice for the home gardener.

How To Grow

Sow seeds thinly 5mm deep in rows 30cm apart from winter through to autumn. Keep the soil evenly moist and free of weeds. For a continuous supply, repeat sowing every two weeks. Thin seedlings to 10cm apart once established and water well to settle the soil around roots. Always prepare beds by removing stones and debris to avoid misshapen carrots.

When To Plant

Winter through to Autumn.

Harvest

Ready in around 12 weeks.

Sow

Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter

Important Note

These seeds may be treated with a fungicide (Thiram or Apron XL). Do not eat the seeds or feed them to animals. Fungicide treatment is an AQIS requirement for certain varieties of seeds. It does not affect crop safety or harm pollinators such as bees.
