Product Overview
Squash Mixed Buttons Seeds
15 Seeds
This colourful mix of green and yellow button squash produces attractive fruits with scalloped edges and a mild, creamy flavour. Picked young, they are excellent sliced raw in salads, or allow them to grow larger and enjoy cooked in butter, steamed, or grilled. Productive and easy to grow, this mix provides a steady supply of tender squash throughout the season.
How to Grow
Sow 2–3 seeds together 2 cm deep in slightly raised beds, spacing clumps 75 cm apart in full sun. Soil must be warm (20°C or above) for reliable germination. Thin to leave the two strongest seedlings per clump. Keep plants well watered and feed regularly once flowering begins. Harvest frequently to encourage continuous cropping.
When to Plant
Spring to early summer, once the soil has warmed.
Soil Type
Prefers fertile, well-drained soil enriched with compost or organic matter.
Harvest
Pick regularly while fruits are small and tender for the best flavour. Frequent harvesting promotes further production.
Sow
Spring, Summer
Important Note
These seeds may be treated with a fungicide (Thiram or Apron XL). Do not eat the seeds or feed them to animals. Treatment is an AQIS requirement for certain seed varieties and does not affect crops or harm beneficial insects such as bees. If treated, packets will be clearly marked and the seeds dyed a distinct colour.
