Pansy Blackjack (Viola x wittrockiana) produce dramatic, large blooms in the deepest black with a rich velvet sheen, each highlighted with a small, bright yellow eye. One of the most sought-after pansy colours, Blackjack delivers bold contrast in garden beds, borders, pots and bedding displays. Although a hardy perennial, it is best treated as an annual and will flower in the same year from an early sowing. It performs well in both full sun and partial shade.

How To Grow
Sow seeds into trays filled with quality seed-raising mix, just covering the seed lightly and keeping the soil moist. Germination usually occurs within 10 to 21 days. Prick out seedlings once they have developed 2 to 4 true leaves. Transplant into well-prepared garden soil once sturdy, spacing plants approximately 15 to 20cm apart.
