Product Overview

Myoporum Parvifolium Broad Leaf Form Pink is a hardy, fast-growing Australian native groundcover, known for its dense, low-growing habit and masses of pale pink, star-shaped flowers. This evergreen plant is perfect for covering slopes, embankments, or as a groundcover in low-traffic areas. It’s especially useful in coastal gardens, where it can withstand salty conditions and tough environments.

Growth:

Myoporum Parvifolium Pink typically grows to a height of 7-15 cm and can spread up to 2-3 metres, forming a dense, mat-like groundcover that is excellent for erosion control.

Light Requirements:

This plant thrives in full sun but can tolerate part shade. In sunny areas, it will produce the best display of flowers and dense foliage.

Soil Requirements:

Myoporum prefers well-drained soils and can adapt to a variety of soil types, including sandy, loamy, and even clay soils. It is also tolerant of coastal and saline soils, making it ideal for seaside gardens.

Water Requirements:

Once established, Myoporum Parvifolium Pink is drought-tolerant, requiring minimal watering. It performs well with occasional deep watering during extended dry periods, but it can survive on natural rainfall.

Frost Tolerance:

This plant is frost-tolerant and can survive in temperate climates where light frosts are common.

Drought Tolerance:

It is highly drought-tolerant, making it ideal for low-water-use gardens and xeriscaping.

Flowering Information:

It produces delicate pink flowers from late spring to summer, with sporadic blooming in autumn. These flowers attract beneficial pollinators, such as bees, to the garden.

Spacing Requirements:

For groundcover planting, space plants approximately 1-1.5 metres apart to allow for full coverage.

Fertiliser Requirements:

Apply a low-phosphorus, slow-release fertiliser in spring to encourage healthy growth. Myoporum typically requires little feeding and thrives in less nutrient-rich soils.

Care and Maintenance:

Low-maintenance. Light pruning after flowering will help maintain its compact shape and promote bushier growth. It is a tough, reliable groundcover for erosion control and low-maintenance landscapes.
