Leek Lyon Prizetaker Seeds
Average 500 Seeds
A classic leek variety with long, thick white stems and fine flavour. Easy to grow and adaptable to a wide range of soils, this heirloom favourite is ideal for soups, stews, roasts and hearty winter meals. Reliable and productive, it performs well in most climates and produces a generous crop of mild, tender stems.
How To Grow
Sow seeds 12mm deep in a seed bed or trays of seed-raising mix. Keep the soil moist until germination. When seedlings reach about 20cm tall, transplant to final growing positions. Make holes 15cm deep and 15cm apart, with 30cm between rows. Drop each plant into a hole and water well — do not firm the soil around the stems. Feed regularly and water consistently for best results.
