Eggplant Black Beauty is one of the finest and most reliable varieties, producing glossy, dark purple fruit with an outstanding flavour. It’s an early and prolific cropper, perfect for adding depth to Mediterranean and Asian-inspired dishes. Compact and versatile, it grows well in garden beds or large pots, provided it is given a sunny, sheltered position and rich, well-drained soil.
How To Grow
Sow seeds 6mm deep in seed trays or punnets filled with seed-raising mix or compost. Keep moist until germination. When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant to their final position, spacing plants 60–75cm apart. In exposed areas, use a short stake for support. Can also be sown direct. Suitable for pots and containers.
