Centaurea cyanus is the classic deep-blue cornflower, beloved in cottage gardens for its simple, double blooms and soft, airy appearance. This hardy annual flowers reliably in its first year and performs beautifully in full sun or light shade.

How To Grow
Sow seeds 1.5cm deep directly where they are to flower and keep the soil moist during germination. You can also sow in late winter or early spring to achieve an earlier display. Thin seedlings to about 25cm apart. Removing spent blooms will encourage a longer flowering period.
