Product Overview
Broccoli Italian Sprouting Seeds
500 seeds
Italian sprouting broccoli is a reliable favourite, producing generous crops of tasty green heads followed by tender side shoots for an extended harvest. It’s perfect for bridging the gap between summer and winter vegetables, and is well suited to both home gardens and smaller spaces. With its rich flavour and high nutritional value, it’s a great choice for roasting, steaming, or adding to stir-fries.
How To Grow
Sow seeds 6mm deep in trays or punnets and keep moist until germination. Transplant seedlings once they are large enough to handle, spacing 60cm apart in well-prepared soil. Water regularly and keep the soil firm around the base. Seeds can also be sown directly into the garden, later thinning to one strong plant per position.
When To Plant
Best sown in late summer and autumn.
Harvest
Pick the central head when it is well formed. Side shoots will continue to develop after the main harvest, providing extra yields.
Sow
Summer, Autumn.
Important Note
These seeds may be treated with a fungicide (Thiram or Apron XL). Do not eat the seeds or feed them to animals. This treatment is an AQIS requirement for some seed varieties and does not affect the crop or harm beneficial insects. Treated packets will be clearly marked and seeds dyed a distinctive colour.
