This vigorous climber can grow up to 8-10 metres in height and 3-5 metres in width. It requires strong support such as pergolas, trellises, or arches to accommodate its size and weight as it matures.
Light Requirements:
Thrives in full sun to part shade. For optimal flowering, it should be planted in a location that receives at least six hours of direct sunlight daily.
Soil Requirements:
Prefers well-drained, fertile soil. Adding organic matter to the soil will improve its fertility and moisture retention, supporting healthy growth.
Water Requirements:
Regular watering is essential during the establishment phase. Once established, it becomes relatively drought-tolerant but benefits from occasional deep watering, especially during dry periods.
Frost Tolerance:
Highly frost-tolerant. This variety can withstand cold winter temperatures and will go dormant, resprouting in spring with fresh growth and abundant flowers.
Drought Tolerance:
Moderately drought-tolerant once established. Consistent moisture will help maintain its health and support abundant flowering.
Flowering Information:
Produces large clusters of pale pink, fragrant flowers from late spring to early summer. These blooms are attractive to bees and other pollinators, enhancing garden biodiversity.
Spacing Requirements:
Space plants approximately 3 to 4 metres apart to allow adequate air circulation and room for growth.
Fertiliser Requirements:
Feed with a balanced fertiliser in early spring to support vigorous growth and abundant flowering. Additional feeding after flowering will help maintain plant health and encourage strong growth for the following season.
