Product Overview
Tomato Rouge de Marmande Seeds
50 Seeds
Rouge de Marmande is a classic French heirloom beefsteak tomato, prized for its outstanding flavour and reliable performance. It produces clusters of deep red, large, flattened ribbed fruits up to 9 cm across, with very few seeds and a rich, meaty texture. Early maturing and suited to temperate climates, this variety sets fruit even in cooler conditions, making it a dependable choice for home gardeners. With good resistance to pests and diseases, it’s as tough as it is tasty. Excellent for sandwiches, salads, and sauces.
How to Grow
Sow seeds 5 mm deep in pots or trays of quality seed-raising mix. Place in a warm, sunny position and keep moist until germination (10–14 days). Transplant seedlings to 10–15 cm pots when large enough to handle, then move to the garden once sturdy. Space plants 60–75 cm apart. Stake early to support heavy crops and pinch out lateral side shoots as they appear. Water well and feed with a potassium-rich fertiliser after the first truss has set.
