These fun giant sunflowers grown from Helianthus annuus are true garden giants, producing towering plants topped with massive golden flower heads. Perfect for backyard challenges, school projects and children’s gardens, they are easy to grow and incredibly rewarding. Sunflowers thrive in full sun and rich soil, and their mature seed heads can be harvested for snacks or used to attract birds to the garden.

How To Grow
Prepare a sunny garden bed by mixing in plenty of organic matter. Make small planting holes about the depth of a fingernail and space seeds around 10cm apart. Place one seed per hole and cover lightly with soil. Water well and keep moist during early growth. Once seedlings appear, thin out the weaker plants so the strongest sunflowers are spaced about 50cm apart. Feed weekly with a liquid fertiliser to encourage strong growth. Due to their deep roots, regular deep watering is important as plants mature.
